4 players from the East-West Shrine Bowl the Atlanta Falcons could draft

The 2022 East-West Shrine Bowl took place on Thursday with the West holding on to a 25-24 win after a late rally by the East.

Jelani Woods: The tightend out of Virginia made a name for himself this week. Woods hauled in three catches for 30 yards and a touchdown. He also recovered an onside kick to negate the Easts comeback attempt. Woods showed he can contribute on special teams, which is essential for rookies. Woods drew comparisons to Colts tightend Moe Ali Cox. The Falcons ran two tightend sets on 394 plays, which ranked second in the NFL. He is a capable blocker. Woods should be a mid to late round pick.

Marquan McCall: McCall is a big nose tackle out of Kentucky. Dean Pees defence couldn't stop the run or pass last season. Ideally, Terry Fontenot will use free agency and early picks in the draft to strengthen our pass rush. McCall has an impressive ability to clog rushing lanes. McCall would be a developmental project at nose tackle. He is suited to a defence like the Falcons who run a 3-4 front.

Samori Toure: Toure led Nebraska in receptions, receiving yards and touchdowns. Toure caught two touchdowns for the East to narrow the deficit to a point. Toure is a savvy route runner and had strong hands required to win at the catch point. His savvy route running was on display for his second touchdown in the shrine bowl. Toure ran a beautiful out an up route, that completely fooled the cornerback, leaving him wide open in the endzone for the score. He lacks elite speed to be an early round pick. The Falcons lack depth at wide receiver  so Toure could be an option late in the draft.

Juanyeh Thomas: Thomas would stay in Georgia if the Falcons drafted him. The former Georgia Tech safety showed an impressive ability to tackle. His standout play was a 3rd and goal stop which prevented  a touchdown. Thomas was a three year starter for Georgia Tech, proving to be comfortable as an in box safety. He was utilised in man coverage too. Thomas has a bit of Keanu Neal about him and he should be available with a late round pick.
